Trip Description: Have you ever wanted to try snowshoeing but never known how? Have you been itching to explore the Colorado’s beautiful backcountry in the winter? Join the Outdoor Program and Year 2 @ CSU on an introductory-level snowshoeing day hike near Cameron Pass. Nestled below towering 12,000 ft mountain peaks. Lake Agnes is one of Northern Colorado’s premier snowshoe destinations. This 2.5 mile one-way hike starts on a wide and mellow access road that meanders through old-growth pine forest and past a historic cabin. The final 0.8 is fairly steep, but participants will be rewarded with spectacular views of Nokhu Crags, Lake Agnes, and moose sightings are not guaranteed but are highly likely. Avalanche awareness instruction will be provided by Outdoor Programs on the trip.
