What is Getting to Year 2?

Getting to Year 2 @ CSU is an initiative designed to help you, as a first-year student, begin thinking about how you will navigate the challenges you may face in your second year. This semester-long campaign has compiled resources and programs from around campus that you can utilize as you begin thinking about your transition into their second year. Whether your concerns pertain to housing, studying abroad, selecting a major, or staying connect – Getting to Year 2 @ CSU is here to help!


How does it work?

Getting to Year 2 @ CSU includes one-time events, as well as ongoing initiatives that can be completed at any point during the semester. First-year students can attend, or participate, in any of the initiatives included in the Getting to Year 2 @ CSU campaign!


How can you get involved and stay up to date?

You will receive bi-monthly emails from Getting to Year 2 @ CSU which will highlight upcoming initiatives, as well as provide students with tips and important information for their second year. Students are also encouraged to visit the Orientation and Transition Program website (www.otp.colostate.edu/gty2) to learn more!

  • First-year students will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of virtual workshops, full of information that will assist students with transitioning to their second year.

SLiCE Spring Involvement Expo

  • January 25 – February 8

    • Colorado State University’s virtual Spring 2021 Involvement Expo is an opportunity for you and your fellow Rams to get involved on campus. Adding more areas of engagement, the Involvement Expo will be presented on Flipgrid, RamLink, and Instagram Takeover leveraging both synchronous and asynchronous options to reach a variety of students. By connecting with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and University departments, you can leave your mark at CSU through student organization and discover the services offered to you. The Involvement Expo is a great way to think big, get involved, and DoSomething CSU.

Virtual Housing Fair

  • Wednesday, February 3 | 10:00am – 4:00pm, MST

  • The Housing Fair is an open house in the Lory Student Center that takes place every spring. It is an opportunity for students to do one stop shopping for places to live in Fort Collins. The Housing Fair brings together landlords, community resources and Colorado State University offices to inform students about housing options and how to successfully live off campus.

Virtual Career Fair

  • Tuesday, February 9 – Wednesday, February 10 | 11:30am – 3:30pm, MST

  • Connect with companies & organizations to discuss full-time, part-time, internship, seasonal, and volunteer positions.

Spring U-Turn

  • Thursday, March 4 | 10:00am – 4:00pm, LSC North Ballroom &Cherokee Park

  • CSU recognizes that there are a number of factors that can impact a student’s academic performance. For students to learn what is impacting their performance, they can drop in to our U-Turn event. At this event, students can learn how to make a successful academic “u-turn”, as well as receive referrals to the best possible resources available on campus.

Attend TILT Academic Workshops

  • Ongoing

  • These workshops are designed with the unique traits and challenges of students in mind! Attend a workshop to learn more about ways to enhance your learning.

Complete SLiCE Involvement Advising

  • Ongoing

  • Taking part in an involvement advising session allows students the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an advisor to help students learn about how their areas of interest may relate to opportunities on and off campus.
